Kaerla Brightfire (Care-luh)
Archflame
"Kaerla Brightfire, a beacon of strength and wisdom, stands as the epitome of the Guild's ideals, guiding its members towards a future ablaze with endless possibilities" - Ignacio Varaz, a History of the Eternal Flame
The current Archflame of the Guild of the Eternal flame, and one of it's oldest members.
Kaerla, like most Eladrin, was born in the feywild. As a summer Eladrin, she tends to be bold, fiery and passionate, and is known to never step down in a fight. She is, however, highly lawful, and will respect the laws of New Neverwinter.
She rose to prominance in the Guild when she led a charge against a band of werewolves which inhabited the darkwood in 1540. This led to her promotion to flamebearer, the prerequisite to Archflame. She became Archflame at a good time for the Guild, in 1569, at a time when their popularity was higher than ever following the victory at the battle of Blackford Crossing. She has since campaigned for more political representation for the Guild, and has established more locations all over the Sword Coast.
She strongly dislikes the Guild of Machnists, and their leader Fablen Wiggins. This is because they are, she feels, politically overrepresented (having a seat on the Parliament of Peers). This means the two guilds never work together, and artificers and wizards generally don't overlap.
She fights with a sentient flaming longsword called "flamebringer". She also has a ring empowered with the abilities of the eternal flame, and can cast extremely powerful fire-based spells.
She's known to spend lots of time in her personal office, and is seen only rarely around the city. She's only commonly seen giving speeches at important dates, and whenever she goes on campaign, where she wears her distinctive mithril plate armour.
