Raelys is the mother of
Malkar Robella,
Velya Robella,
Ophelia Robella, and wife of
Calanor Robella. Hailing from an extremely wealthy noble family from the western lands of the Asha Alari in the
Svaelyn Isles known as
House Elsinor, her family produces many diplomats and explorers. House Elsinor has acted as the primary head of the diplomatic mission to
Elysium, the continent to
Sol’s west. Raelys is a deeply studious sorceress who nonetheless kept her arcane interests secret from most, including much of her family. Being too interested in power to be content with a life of diplomacy, politics, and wealth, she became a professor of psionics in
The Arcane Institute, working under Calanor. She left the institute with her husband after the scandal. Her relationship with her eldest siblings became strained after her obsession with magic grew unstable. Her disappointment with them for both failing to grasp her sorcerous magic was immense. Ophelia, however, inherited her psionic abilities, and when Raelys discovered this, she sought to raise her to be particularly immune to the influence of aberrant forces, amplyifying her magical ability but leaving her susceptible to certain influences in the wrong situations. Estranged from her own noble house and most of her children, Raelys barely leaves the confines of Glimmerstone Hall.
