Calanor is the father of
Ophelia Robella,
Malkar Robella,
Velya Robella, husband of
Raelys Robella, and head of
House Robella. An ambitious man and scarily powerful mage, he had risen to become the
Archmage of
The Arcane Institute before the birth of his youngest daughter. While skilled with all schools of magic, he has a particular affinity for the Illusion school. Shortly after Ophelia’s tenth year, Calanor found himself embroiled in a scandal with
The Arcane Institute and the King after important secrets of the Institute were discovered under his leadership as
Archmage. With this, his status as
Archmage was revoked by the Pegasus Council, the ruling body of
The Arcane Institute. Since then, and after sending Ophelia far away to keep her away from his ever-growing list of enemies, real and imagined, he has become far more reclusive. Retreating to Glimmerstone Hall to become obsessed with his work, he is rarely heard from directly and feared by many in the
Svaelyn Isles. Despite being on such bad terms with the Institute and losing his license as an instructor, his name still carries weight with mages near and far.
