Violet

"I just need to make a few more color adjustments..."

Violet is one of the more talented artists in Kernelle. She starts to feel self conscious when she begins comparing herself to artists in the city, with their colorful, highly detailed art. Eventually she decides to run away from Kernelle, hiding herself away in The Pipes to create a masterpiece in an attempt to prove herself.   She ends up falling prey to perfectionism, which stops her from ever finishing.

General Physical Condition

When Jerrod finds Violet painting at the heart of The Pipes, she's become emaciated, with an arched back and strained eyes. Clearly, her perfectionism has taken a physical toll.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Violet was adopted as an artisan. She decided early on that she wanted to beautify the homes of Kernelle and adopted painting.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Violet is a fairly competent artist. Some of the villagers like her paintings enough to keep them in their homes.

Mental Trauma

One day, Violet catches a glimpse of some art from the city in the village market. Its eye-catching appearance makes her self-conscious about her own work, which is nowhere near as colorful. She begins to think that in order for her work to really be beautiful, it needs to be just like the city artist's. She struggles to try to adopt to the very different art style, and begins to obsess over making her artwork "perfect."

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Beauty and perfectionism. She wants everything she does to be "just so."

Likes & Dislikes

She hates spray-paint, which she thinks gets everywhere and looks gross.   She loves to paint nature as a subject.

Social

Religious Views

Faithful to the Tenets, even when living in the Grand Cluster. This is notable, as most often, the corrupting influence of the city drives people away from the Faith.
