Empress of Montago

This rank is the appointed military supreme commander of the Empire of Montago. They have absolute authority over the executions of the Imperial Armed forces, in their mission to secure the country, protect the citizens of the country, and when required bring violence to those who would deny the first two parts. The Empress is appointed to her position for life, and may only be removed by the Royal Princess, if found negligent in her duties as Empress, to accuse the current Empress of this is also a declaration by the Royal Princess that she is changeling the Empress for the right to ascend to her post, via a trail by combat. No stand-in fighters or champions are allowed it is a duel between the Empress and the Royal Princess, the winner becomes the new Empress. As with most government and military posts in the Empire, this position can only be filled by a women. additionally they need to prove that there bloodline extends back to one of the founding families of the Empire.

The position has a direct touch point, for the commanding generals and senior military leaders of each branch of the empire's military's forces, as well as the Head Mage, and a council of advisors to help the Empress manage the day to day operations of the Military forces of the Empire.

The Empress position has articles of equipment and items that are symbols of her position, and considered part of her uniform. The Empress has a special set of armor (It is a set of Heritage Armor), and from the following list will select 1 relic weapon to accompany her for all the days of her term (these are relics of the country and when the Empress moves on these remain in the Empire)(there is a 1H sword, a 2H sword, an axe. an 2H axe, a mace, an 2H mace, a raiper, a composite short or long bow, a long or short bow, a pike, a trident, a musket, a pistol, a halberd) when the Empress gains her title, she also picks one of the weapons. She has access to the others as well, but she is seen wearing the one she has chosen (as it a part of her rule), the armor is a magical piece but it is different in the respect that the Empress gains her official armor when she has the post of Royal Princess and has all those years and time to train in it. An Empress is buried in their armor, and their weapons that they held dear in life that are not from the relic group. The tradition is meant to show that even in death, an empress is sworn to protect her country and its citizens forever, they do not get the joys of experiencing the afterlife, they are assigned as protectors of their country until the day the Empire ceases, or the world ends, it is a heavy choice a Royal Princess must make before she decides to pursue the path of Empress.

As a nation with huge swaths of plains and grasslands, the Empire military historically favored calvary forces, to cover the vast track of the grass seas. They pocess the worlds best calvary forces, in the form a heavy dragoon, called a Cataphract. Their standard calvary forces are also the best trained, equipped, and experienced in the World of Myth.
