Mages tower

The tower has been built by humans to create a place where they could intensively study magic and teach it to their followers.

The tower itself has been enlarged a few times to include studies of new types of magic.   A menagerie has later been added to study animals' links and impacts on hylif, as well as being used as test subjects for some spells.

The tower is among the tallest buildings built by humans. Every floor is fully equiped to function independently from the others and specialized in a specific kind of magic at a specific level. Contacts between residents of different floor is encouraged, as it allows for more in-depth training and/or diversity of knowledge, which one can never have too much of.   To this end, the first few floors are common spaces: great libraries, dining halls, training spaces and the likes.   The lowest floors above these are used for the general cursus, with higher floors focusing on more specific magic, ranked from the simplest to hardest to perform. The highest floors are reserved for graduated members of the order who would choose to stay at the tower, divided by their ranks.   The final floor is dedicated entirely to the grand archmage. It contains a private library, artifact room, office and quarters. Entry is obviously forbidden to anyone who has not been summoned directly by the grand archmage.
