Mecada
The fourth of five planets from its star, Mecada is home to the Midland Civilization of the Three Kingdoms and every man, woman, child, and domesticated animal that resides therein and thereout.
Mecada orbits the orange dwarf Iau, the minor partner in a binary system which also includes Hin, a yellow dwarf. Hin plays host to a planetary system of its own, containing three planets.
In regards to Hin and Iau, Mecada resides within an odd Lagrangian configuration that renders seasons within a single solar year virtually non-existent. As the two stars orbit each other, interactions cause recurring periods of hotter, colder, and wetter years in that order. Historically, astronomical cycles were recorded by the Midland Calendar, which retains a central traditional role; however, for scientific purposes, the modern Patrician Calendar is preferred.
Mecada completes one full orbit around Iau every 59 Earth days, 1 hour, 24 minutes, and 14.4 seconds. The day is of comparable, though not identical, length to an Earth day.
