Iron Sun
The iron sun is an item often used in cooking and food preparation, typically used by the Ilogari to combat nutritional deficiencies.
Nurturing Sun
Commonly used in making soups and stews, in particular, the iron sun was often placed in boiling pots and cauldrons to leach iron and other minerals into whatever meal was being prepared, making it just a touch more nutritious. Though the practice of using such tools to add supplemental minerals to food isn't unique to these people, the form they have chosen as the default for this handy tool was driven by the Ilogari connection to the sun and the New Dawn. In Ba'Logor, the use of the iron sun is often more than a simple nutritional aid, but an aspect of daily prayer and mindfulness, and a small act of devotion in producing food that was heartier and more fulfilling for those who need it.Sun in the Northlands
This tool was adopted by many populations in the Savelan Northlands in the times when the Ilogari settled on their eastern shores. The nomadic travelers of the rugged clifflands found tremendous value in the tool as one that would lessen the strain of addressing and treating anemia, a common ailment among their people. Being the resourceful folks they were, they didn't struggle to keep the condition managed within their population, but the tool allowed them to focus on other areas of weakness in their diets and nutrition, leading to a stronger, healthier population overall. Though suns are still a common form for this item to take, the imagery has less significance to the Northlanders than it does to the Ilogari, and other forms of the tool have sprung up over time. Coastal residents often take inspiration from shellfish they find washed up on their shores, and those more nomadic take inspiration from mice and other small rodents common to the cliffside.Want Secrets?
