Artifact

An artifact is a unique object of magical or advanced technological origin that functions as a key source of a character’s power. The artifact is likely bonded to your character in some way. If you wouldn’t have your powers without it, and it can’t be easily replaced, it’s probably an artifact. You only need to take this resource once, even if you have multiple artifacts.

Alternatives: You don’t need to spend a point on an artifact just to have a magical or high-tech piece of equipment unless it’s actually the source of your character’s power. If you’re already skilled at wielding axes, for example, having the ancestral axe of your clan is just a bonus. Similarly, if you had the skill to design and craft your artifact yourself, you’re probably an engineer or a wizard, and you don’t need to spend another character point.
