Magic Eight

Magic Eight is a Kitchen Sink setting, combining elements of numerous modern-day(ish) genres, including urban fantasy, cyberpunk, superhero, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, cosmic horror, and more. It is set primarily in a dystopian alternate-reality Los Angeles, known as Costa Grande, where supernatural creatures, magic, advanced robotics, superhumans, and aliens all exist alongside ordinary humans. Megacorporations, sinister cabals, supernatural forces, and revolutionaries all vie for power in a world descending into chaos.   The world of Magic Eight is influenced by The Eight Spheres of Power; universal forces capable of granting incredible abilities. The spheres are responsible for the existence of numerous alternate realms of existence, most notably the magic-dominated realm of Arcadia, which exists in parallel to Mundus, the modern technological world where most of the setting takes place.   Overshadowing all of this is a centuries-old global conspiracy dedicated to keeping the existence of magic, aliens, and supernatural creatures secret from the public. But, with the rise of the mutant rights movement and the push for A.I. liberation, more and more cracks are growing, and war is brewing in the shadows.
