The Ascension of Jafeera True-Mind
"It was hot as jungles are. I flew in as a bird, stayed as a woman, and left without the crown of trickery. It was one of my best days." - Olidimmara
Summary
Jafeera was the third monarch to Mokar, living in an age when humankind soared to new heights of shared dreams, magic, and hope. However, Jafeera grew bored with it all, she knew she was capable of more than simply watching over a kingdom that by all accounts thrived without her. What she wanted was to impact the world in greater ways, and so she wallowed for a time.
That changed when the day of Olidimmara came, a festival to celebrate the mad trickster god, but on that day Jafeera did not celebrate. Instead she hatched a devious scheme, instead of pouring out an offering to the chief god of trickery, she instead ate the offering herself. Claiming she was greater in wits that Olidimmara, and dared the god to prove her wrong with a contest of cunning. Until then she would take all challengers, if any could outwit her they would have life of eternal joy.
Thoroughly intrigued, Olidimmara appeared in the form of a blue bird and watched Jafeera for a time, as she outsmarted every riddle, puzzle, test, and question that came her way. Taking the form of a young Mokari woman, Olidimmara walked up to Jafeera and asked her a question to test her knowledge, this question was "On the day Diavon tricked Norung, what did Corellon Larethian eat with his elves?"
Jafeera recognized the trick question and responded, "Diavon did not trick Norung, as he did not become Diavon until after he did. And Corellon Larethian did not eat anything with his elves that day as they did not yet exist." What followed was several questions and riddles that befuddled all who heard them but Jafeera, it was midway through the second test that Jafeera knew who she spoke with, but only when she answered the tenth did she say. "Now answer me this, who is the mightiest trickster?"
Olidimmara assumed his true form and mockingly bowed to her, saying that she was truly a clever girl. As he was about to leave, Jafeera stopped him and demanded a reward, as she had offered to all who tested her, if Olidimmara was tested by her and lost then why should he not grant her the same gift ten times over? Olidimmara relented and offered her a life of eternal joy, but realized a conundrum. Life is fleeting, so how could he give her a life of eternal joy, catching a sly glint in Jafeera's eye Olidimmara laughed loudly.
"Very well! if it is a life of eternal joy, then an eternal life of joy ye shall have!" He shouted and with a wave of his hand, Jafeera became a new goddess. Olidimmara was not angry, instead he was almost relieved as he too found his life boring up until then. He granted her a new crown, the crown of trickery, and on that day Jafeera became goddess of trickery, cunning, and the Head Deity of the Trickery domain
Historical Basis
Considering the goddess herself has had quite a few overt moments in history where she greatly effected the world, there is little doubt she exists. So it is not hard to imagine that the story itself is true, especially when it brought such great change with it.
