Mokari Monarch

 The Mokari have always ruled by the finest among them, these monarchs have meant to represent the greatest of Mokar. Selected by the previous ruler, the next ruler is always trained to be better than the last, and as such they constantly improve themselves.

Qualifications

There are no qualifications beyond impressing the current monarch and getting them to choose an individual as their heir. The training process is rigorous and the selected heir would have to be equal to several Nomad Lords in combat before fully taking the title.

Requirements

The only requirements are to be Mokari and be chosen by the previous monarch, it is not a hereditary title and it has moved from families in the past.

Appointment

The ceremony to take the throne is one where the previous ruler, in their twilight years, passes the swords of the station to the next at two points. First the Sword of the Sun at dawn, and the Sword of the Moon at dusk, then the throne is bequeathed to the chosen.

Duties

The ruler watches over every aspect of Mokari life, their nomadic paths, the training of warriors, the selection of Nomad Lords, and the leading of battle as long as they are able. They raise the morale of the people, unite them in their faith, and will listen to anything their people have to say.

Responsibilities

The ruler personally oversees training of Nomad Lords, directs their caravans through the desert from Melkine, and distributes resources to those who need it. From there it is daily troubles that the ruler must deal with to keep their people alive.

Benefits

The Mokari rulers hold absolute power in every aspect and will exorcise it in any means, so long as it does not endanger the people's culture.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The significant symbols are that of the Swords of the Sun and the Moon, twin scimitars that were forged with rare metals to fit the motifs of the sun and moon. The crescent of the moon in the Sword of the Moon and made of silver, while the sun-shaped hilt of the Sword of the Sun made from rare golden metal that is hard as steel.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Only if the ruler is proven inept or cruel then a Nomad Lord is given right to unite all others to overthrow the ruler, but only if all agree and have the blessing of The Source.

History

The Mokari rulers always represented humanity at its best, and the past to hold the title have saved the world, led great wars of justice, and impressed deities. There is a story of heroism for ever known Mokari ruler, one such ruler, Chanis Demon-Slayer, led his people against the Demonic Incursion and eventually killed a mighty balor that threatened his people's existence.

Cultural Significance

The various great leaders of the Mokar have effected history through their heroic and mythic actions, whether it be defeating godly foes or becoming gods themselves, the people of Hitram remember the stories of the Mokari people and its ruler.

Notable Holders

Koaldus The Magnificent was the first ruler and was considered the first great hero of humankind, defeating a kraken that sought to sink the continent. Then there is Jafeera True-Mind, the fourth monarch, who outwitted the god Olidimmara and gained immortality and in the process was granted godhood by the impressed Olidimmara.
