Onishi Shoji (オニシ ショジ O-ni-shi Sh-o-ji)

Onishi grew up watching money slip through his family's fingers. His father was a gambler not lucky, just persistent. Most nights he came home broke, sometimes bruised. Onishi’s mother left when he was still young, leaving just the two of them behind. As a kid, he picked up card games quickly, even beating his dad a few times. That small spark turned into a shared obsession. His father taught him everything cards, dice, strange games with shifting rules and soon, Onishi was the better player. As he got older, his dad started bringing him to bars and gambling dens. One night, his father told him to take his seat at the table. Onishi cleaned the place out. The rush was addictive.   But fate had other plans. His father's debts far worse than Onishi had ever realised led them to a backroom game, far from home. The men at the table had pins, badges… something official. His father lost his final hand and collapsed at the table, his last breath drawn right there. Onishi was forced to finish the game in his place. From that moment on, every win chipped away at a mountain of debt. But the money never touched his hands, it all funnelled back to the people who owned him.   Then, one night, after another long game, a man in a purple suit sat across from him. Calm smile, hair covering one side of his face. He slid a golden pin across the table and said, “You don’t have to keep playing their game.” He listened really listened. It was the first time anyone had.   Later that night, a fight broke out. Onishi watched, stunned, as the man single-handedly took on ten others. Blood dripping from his nose, the man stood tall, reached out a hand, and invited Onishi to walk away from it all. He introduced himself as Orochi. Onishi was led into a black van. At first, he feared it was just another trap, another cage disguised as a lifeline. But when they arrived, injured and barely staying on his feet, he was brought into a brightly lit room. A woman with brown hair performed a quick medical check, treating his old wounds. Then, she handed him the same golden pin.   “If you want to join the cause,” she said, “you know where to find us.” Onishi didn’t hesitate.   He joined the organisation known as the Hidora Security Company. Not for profit but to tear down the system that stole his father and chained him for years. Now, he fights to protect others like him.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Onishi Shoji stands a bit taller than most, with calm and confident. He wears a sharp black loose-fit suit, single-breasted with two buttons, paired with a deep purple shirt underneath that features minimal black stripes, unbuttoned just enough at the collar to keep things relaxed without losing any edge. A golden gilded chain rests on his neck. On his wrists, if you catch a glimpse, you’ll see cuff-links shaped like a pair of aces, one spade and one club with blue symbols on black cards and a clean white border.   His face is calm, his rather pale skin giving him a sharp contrast to his dark hair, which falls just messily enough to seem natural. His eyes are a striking blue, sharp, observant, waiting to play out his aces. He seems harmless, but those who know him are aware that, as a gambler and someone deeply into playing any type of game, he’s always thinking about what his next move will be.
