Sulphide Demons

Whether you be first generation Iron Demons, or Second generation Cold Iron, there is a softening that comes from staying too close to the foliads and their settlements. Better the open seas, better deep mangroves - even better the glorious new cities under Xylos or Lady Hubblesstone, than the gardens of the 'knowledgable'. Let fire and battle be your calling cards rather than give into the glamour and frivolity of the Sulphide.

As demons settled across Levis, some came to live more closely to the gardens and communities of the foliads. While this did not effect the Brutes or the imps, or even the Lust Demon as much, for the Iron demons and their kin this had a tangible effect. The softening of their society, and their integration resulted in the absorption of the copper and sulphide compounds within the shards that push from their skin, a sign to their bretherin that they have taken on too much of the society that they grow within. Demon Gardeners see the most risk of taking on this subculture, though it is the presence of the gardens themselves that have built up this development.
Physical changes are met with cultural ones too - not just the desire to be within a fight less than their iron based cousins, but also an abandonment of the armors that cover most demons, and a change from working against the land to stepping within it. While Sulphide demons are not as adverse to the caves and mountains as their foliad neighbours, the Sulphides tend to openly respect the taboos even while often secreting away signs and symbols of their own gods.
The Sulphides are fusion made skin, golden spires pushing from their skin that tarnish in blacks and irridencent purples and blues. This has given them the name among the foliads as Sakura-Demons or even Duditch demons if they are feeling less kind.

Okay now this this is very fun. This is a great twist on this prompt. I never thought about taking the word culture in one of its other attached definitional directions, this is brilliant. I adore the idea, absolutely top notch, certainly tucking this one away in the collection :)

My friend in the real was sitting with me talking the iron demons and the cold iron demons and was like "Take this to its natural conclusion.... are you aware of these iron compounds. Tell me what the implications would be" I really value this friend's encouragement.

Aw, I like them, even if other demons do not.
