Reptiles and Amphibians of Infernus
Sprint lizards
Ranging between 3 to 5cm at full adult length, the sprint lizard is a master of the iron winds of Levis. With thick ridged toepads for gripping, a body built to rapidly scab over any cut, and armored eyelids that close over when it runs through the open, these small boys are homing rockets of target meets destination. Their colours are dusty brown to match the topsoil of the lands of Infernus, with small yellow eyes that only see in black and white and a brain dulled against movement.Frill necked snake.
Blending the mood of the reader's cobra with the spice of the frill neck lizard, this orange bodied snake has a black ring of skin around its neck that it opens by pumping air into the air cavity and locking bone ribs in place to form a staggered frill. This snake is venomous, delivering a paralytic poison to its victim so that it can swallow its prey whole - its jaw able to dislocate to swallow things up to the size of a small bird.Eastern Pools Salamander
Stretching the boiling steam pools and the magma spouts of the eastern valley group of Infernus, this herbivorous salamander has a bright yellow and white colouring, using that to attempt to blend in with the moving and bubbling areas of molten rock and boiling water. Their heat resistant skin is great for leatherworking for the forgemasters of Brusbann Pass, who use it for both gloves and belts and sometimes bandannas to protect extra long hair.
