Celestial Winds
In the base workings of the realm of Levis, magic has a source, a conversion and an output. If the winds are a source, then only great magic can be the output.Magic across all the realms of the cosmos comes in some way or another from the well of possibility. And in Levis, the celestial winds are the interplay between the stars, the well, and gravity. Swirling and pooling around the realm like water poured on uneven sand on a lazy-susan, the winds are potent potential magic that winds and pools around Levis. To describe the interplay between the magic of the winds, and how they drag their force over the crust of the world; and the magic of the individual - that inside them spirit, mortal and god alike, is to describe putting and open bottle into a flowing river, and expecting to pull the exact same bottle out. Magic and what the reader might describe as the soul may be used interchangeably here, for the winds act as the flowing blood of the metaphysical of the realm. Great magics and reliable magics are performed where the celestial winds twist in turbulent eddies, curled pack on themselves in pools of concentrated density. See Sky-Walker for details, but the act of magic within the bounds of a pool of celestial wind is the power of a dozen mages.
Actions and Consequences
To use the celestial winds to greatest effect, one must exercise restraint. The definition of the wind is turbulence and that means by definition an infrequent flow rate at the micro scale - which a mage generally is. This is why old troll magic was spread out, it could average the difference in the flux (flow rate in a specific area) of a celestial wind. A single mage, using the winds, in a fixed location has as of current date, no known way of measuring the flux in a wind, or how it will react with the magic the mage is trying to perform. All of this does not even question how the winds interact with the absence of magic, thinking of the nul spaces where the ether lines ran across the Br1n Network. While there were no catastrophic failures either in technology, or in the natural order, the magnificent sky spectacles that formed each time the network and the winds overlapped did send several mages into metaphorical cardiac arrest as new technology and old magic shook hands across the sky.

Oo, I love the idea of celestial winds.
