Knights of the Burning Hand

The Knights of the Burning Hand are a religious knightly order that operates across the nations of Exokkos. They are composed of landed nobles who are also devotees of the Elunakhi faith and have chosen to hold their highest allegiance towards their brothers and sisters in faith rather than towards any temporal authority. Outside of the so-called Nations of the Flame, where Elunakhi is the official state religion, this is only tolerated by the governments of Exokkos because of the prevalence of the order, because of the fact that their members still pay taxes as required, and because of the knowledge that any attempt to crack down on the Knights of the Burning Hand would result in an uprising of any neighbouring members of the order.

Recruitment

Outside of the Nations of the Flame, the primary source of recruits for the Knights of the Burning Hand is from among the third and fourth sons of noble families from across Exokkos.

Culture

The Knights of the Burning Hand are devotees of the Elunakhi faith. While they do not force others to their beliefs, they do ask that those of other faiths leave their lands.
