Cerberus Fire Engine

"The Fire Engine" is a vehicle loaned to the crew by Wynne to help them track down the monstrous Parasect within the bowels of Cerberus station.   The vehicle is one of the station's firefighting fleet, and is equipped with a standard array of firefighting equipment.  

• Several powerful hoses (with an internal reservoire of fire retardants)
• Fire extinguishers (housed in equipment cabinets)
• Extendable ladder ending in a rescue bucket
• Environmentally protected cab, with comfortable seating for 6
• Forward mounted winch
• Search and rescue lights
• All-wheel electric drive on a heavy duty chassis

 

Adventure through the Station

  Reinhard affectionately calls the fire engine their "armored personnel carrier", and spends much of his time manning the gunner's copula (the rescue bucket). The rescue bucket was used to tremendous effect by Quinn, bursting through the window of an office building to effect a rescue from rampaging zombies.   The fire engine would serve the crew well as they fought off more zombies, encountered an unknown party of infected humans, and investigating two of the Parasect coral nests.   However, it was not to last. When the crew at last track the creature down, their ambush of the Parasect does not go well. The fire engine is battered by the creature before being partially dragged into molten metal. The crew were forced to abandon the vehicle to pursued retreating creature.  

Reborn

  After dealing with the creature, the crew were confronted with the need to find a way home. Inspiration strikes Reinhard, who decides to scavenge parts of the Parasect carcass to rebuild a ramshackled sled, powered by the remnants of the fire engine. This makeshift vehicle was itself a danger to the crew, but managed to get them safely back to the Habitat.
