Major Sergeant Rufus Trout is the husband of Millie Trout and was stationed at the Scorpion's Eye in Scorpion Pointe. He carried two injured soldiers out of the besieged base and corroborated with Sergeant Jaxion to discuss the assault and his theory on the Deremitru. He agreed to join the party after the new year to travel north toward Blackrust Canyon in search of an entrance to a presumed underground city or civilization where the Deremitru may live, may construct or reconstruct ancient machines of war and could be working to awaken an ancient beast - The Scorpion.
