GSRoE 79 Class
The Great Southern Railway of Etorea 79 Class was a class of seventeen 0-6-0 tender engines built for general goods traffic on the GSRoE's various lines. The class were mostly kept at the Three Chimneys MPD as it was the closest to the goods yard at one of the larger stations being at Shanross.
The class were designed by Albert Ives to replace 1840s 2-2-2s and 2-4-0s that were living out their final days on goods services. The 79 & 38 classes were intended to replace them with both being more powerful and better suited for goods traffic. The 79 Class found a particular neiche pulling fish trains due to their higher sustained speed than the 38 class.
All members of the class were rebuilt as part of the GSRoE 272 Class.
