The Usurpation of the Throne

Overview

The events that took place in conjunction with the lich transformation of the wizard known as Kazimyr.

The combination of the joint processes has conferred upon him the powers and arcane connections necessary to transform him into the The Lich King.

Said events are the culmination of the schemes and secret machinations of the cunning and brilliant wizard Kazimyr.

As a result, Kazimyr not only managed to transform his mortal body into the very powerful undying form of a Lich, he also managed to manipulate the essence of the Land on which the kingdom was located to magically bind the entire realm to himself.

Coronation of the Lich

In order to obtain control of the land the Lich King had to bind the whole kingdom to himself.

• A temporary appointment to regent of the kingdom by the king- as the king and his army left to the west to meet the landing armies, he appointed his friend and most trusted advisor to the temporary position of Regent of the kingdom
• The last charge- the Lich king managed to get rid of the king and most of his powerful nobles in the events of the last charge. other heirs and nobles were picked off either prior or soon thereafter.

Kazimyr has managed to instigate an invasion from a coalition of kingdoms from his former continent.

As the fleet of the invading army was en route to the shores of Arthena, Kazimyr used his position and influence to forewarn the king and his council.

The King and his most elite vanguard made haste to thwart the impending landing the west. little did they know, they were riding to a trap, carefully and meticulously planned by his most trusted adviser.

• The coronation by the corrupt Arch-cleric Hight Priest Ilisudril. as the king and and most of his immediate successors were petrified by a powerful curse, the laws of the kingdom entrusted the Hight priest with the task of finding the hair to the throne.
• The binding to the Crux Coerum- a powerful artifact forged from the heart of the great dragon- obtained from beneath the capital. the heart is now integrated into his undead Lich form. it is a still beating, scale covered heart adorned with golden mechanisms and engraved with runes.
