The Lich King

Early life

the lich king was born as Kazimyr on the continent of Arzul. he was born to a humble origin, but showed promise with arcane ablilities from an early age.

He was summoned to the royal arcane academy as a novice at age 8.

Shortly thereafter the young Kazimyr was invited to be an apprentice of the archmage (the master of the academy).

As a young adult he learned that there is a prophecy that alludes to his future greatness. enraged about the concealment of the aforementioned knowledge by his master and fearing his progress as a mage is being deliberately stifeled, he left the institution in secrecy.

his travels lead him eventually to the Kingdom of Angmar on the continent of Arthea

There his proficiency with the arcane arts had earned him a place at the Kings council of magic wielders. as the council was previosly dominated by casters of druidic or clerical backgrounds, his style of magic was imidiatly prized by the monarch. not only did his academy trained skills were more predictable they were also unafiliated to external forces like deitis or nature.

As a result his status and influace at court was prominent from the very beginning and rose steadyly therafter.

Hazimyr immediately started pursuing the knowledge and powers that would one day set him on the path to lichdom and the crown.

The Quest for the prophecy

After successfully securing a place in the royal cadre of casters, he was free to start the search for the components that could earn him immortality and eventually ascension to Godhood.

In the following years he assembled a select group of heroes and adventurers that would assist him in his quest. one of them was the skilled knight named Lord Eremort .

The individual components that would be necessary for his plan:

1. Components for the Lich transformation- to buy him the time needed to complete the scheme
2. Aquisition of the Lamp of the Arch-Geni in order to harness the essence of the Wish spell and making a philactry out of it.
3. The dark miracle ritual- a cursed veil above the skies of the kingdom and the containment of the continent inside of the holy whirlwind.

as part of the ritual the entire capital city of the kingdom was anihilated and the whole kingdom was magically bound to the Lich by magical means- making him the Lich King.

4. A divination tool- as part of the wish obtained from the Gini the Lich King has crafted a divination ritual that would inform him of the biggest danger to his plan (accessible once per several years as a result of an astronomic configuration).

5. Made in the days of his servitude to the king. helping his set the needed pieces in place for his plan. at present all of the kings justice is contracted to the devil lord

6. The final ritual of ascension- designed to transform the whole continent into his unholy domain. as a result the Lich King would achieve Godhood and instantly killing every inhabitant on the continent. this is a final stage that is about to be initiated into motion at the start of the campaign.
