Sulawesi

Sulawesi was a nation in the archipelago of East Indies. It was greatly influenced by the government of the Empire of Japan.

History

Due to the terms of the treaty ending the The Great War, Japan was forbidden from occupying the nation due to being on the losing side, and instead began to establish a puppet regime. The idea to keep the archipelago separate was an act by Japan itself in order to make the region more manageable. Sulawesi came under the rule of the Sultanate of Gowa.

Following the Russo-German War, the Sultanate of Sulawesi agreed to sign the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, though to a great amount of coercion from Japan.

Disbandment

During the World War, Java, another nation of the East Indies, struck a deal with the Americans. Java recieved support to invade Sulawesi, incorporating it into the Javan Empire.
