Michel I

King Michel I

Michel Jacques Christophe was King of Haiti and the son of Pierre I. Following The Great War, he continued his father's endeavor to expand the kingdom. He supported public opposition in Jamaica towards the British Empire. Jamaica had been protesting against military impressment into the British army. It was rumored that King Pierre I had stoked many of these protests, and Michel sought to benefit. Finally, in 1925, Jamaica declared independence, and wished joined the Kingdom of Haiti.

Haiti gained little international support, and Great Britain managed to reassert control over their jewel in the Caribbean. It wasn't until King James I of America looked for support in the formation of the Pan-American Confederation that Michel saw an opportunity. He requested support in Jamaica, but America was unwilling to support this demand initially. When Great Britain declared war, and the World War began, America lamented and agreed, and Michel declared war on Great Britain.
