Daniel Webster

Daniel Webster was an American politician who served as the tenth Chancellor of America from 1842 to 1846. During his tenure, he introduced measures to compensate the previous slave holders, measures that secured the readmission of rebelling states but also led to the Economic Panic of 1844. He also oversaw the death of the very popular King Augustus II and the ascension of William I.
