Angel
When a pair of unusual sisters - one with glowing gold eyes and shimmering skin and the other with devil horns and tail - arrived in Redoubt, many of the more superstitious townsfolk wanted to cast them out - that is, until they met Angel.
A Feline of Bizarre Heritage
On the surface, Angel would seem to be nothing more than an ordinary housecat: she walks like a cat, purrs like a cat, and generally engages in other cat-like activities. Of course, it is difficult to ignore the set of wings that sprout from the tiny feline's back. No one knows exactly where she came from. Even the sisters could not explain her heritage. They claimed to have found her as a kitten hiding in the coat of a fallen caravanner who had seemingly been felled by Elves in The Verdant Maw. Eventually, the sisters disappeared, but Angel stayed behind.
The Center of Attention
One would think that even a cat as unusual as Angel would quickly be forgotten in the bustle of a frontier town, but the gruff mercenaries and tradesmen of Redoubt have instead begun to see her as a good luck charm and source of opportunity. A number of mercenary companies, most notably The Seraphic Claws and The Ivory Wing Cohort, have drawn inspiration from Angel's presence.
The cat has also garnered the moniker "The Dawn Harbinger" for her tendency to perch atop the western watchtower as the sun rises and watch the fishing boats depart for the day. The fishermen swear that, whenever she appears atop the tower, their catch is better. Though no one knows who created it, a soft bed of down and furs has appeared atop the watchtower - perhaps an enticement for the Harbinger.
Apprentice blacksmiths have also begun to jockey for Angel's favor. Many will swear that the cat's presence sparks perfect hammer strikes, allowing them to temper steel with an almost magical luster. Some have been successful in selling their "Angel-Forged" weapons and armor at premium prices. This has led craftsmen throughout the town to go to extraordinary lengths to entice her to visit their workshops.
Coming Into Her Own
Initially withdrawn and skittish around people, Angel warmed quickly to all of the attention. She has become playful and even a bit mischievous. She almost seems to understand the bidding wars that the various soldiers, harvesters, and craftsmen are willing to start in order to get her attention, and she seems to delight in having them raise the stakes. Given all of these enticements, one could reasonably expect her to spend most of her time sleeping off the food coma, but she continues to run and fly around, chasing lizards, mice, and even children through the crowded streets of Redoubt . Many have come to believe that even having her cross their path means they are blessed for the day.

It was. One of her rules for playing D&D has always been that her character gets a pet of some sort.
