The Iron Bloom

The physical and cultural center of Redoubt , The Iron Bloom serves as a hub for those seeking rest, succor, opportunity, work, adventure, and everything in between.

A Symbol of Permanence

Not only was the Iron Bloom the first construction erected in Redoubt, but it is the only stone building within the village. While other buildings come and go to fit the needs or the guards and craftsmen, the Bloom is immutable by design. Everyone who lays eyes on it knows what it means: humans are here to stay. The more permanent citizens of Redoubt have great pride in the Bloom and see it as a solemn duty to defend it. The Elves of The Verdant Maw also recognize the symbolism in this building and have vowed to destroy it, believing that doing so will scatter the humans to the winds.

A Hub for Adventure

There are certainly other places to get food, supplies and sleep in Redoubt. The Iron Bloom offers all of those things while serving as the single best place in the village to find work. Craftsmen, adventurers, and opportunists of every ilk flock here to do business, hire freelancers for every type of mission, commission custom supplies, and hatch plans both admirable and nefarious.

All Business Welcome

Not one to turn down an opportunity himself, Aldie Chesk runs his establishment as an open invitation to do business over a mug of ale and a hearty stew. All are welcome for (almost) all purposes. Off-duty militia members regularly drink together while rogues and miscreants scheme nearby. So long as they are all paying customers, they are welcome. With that in mind, brawls have no place in the Bloom, and those who start or provoke them will find themselves banned for life. Due to the reverence the building evokes, damage resulting from a fight can see the perpetrator ostracized throughout the entirety of Redoubt.
