Uri Arcgelen's VIP suite at the Crossroads Cafe was dubbed the inner sanctum by his brother Mike as a joke, but the name stuck. Strictly off limits to anyone who hasn't been personally invited by Uri, it has become an exclusive hang out for his inner circle where they can relax and enjoy the ambiance of the nightclub portion of the cafe without the hassle of dealing with its more rowdy patrons. The inner sanctum is Uri's favorite place to be because it provides a private space where he can drop the facade of the menacing tough guy that he takes on in his role as head of security for the starbase and just relax and be his warm, friendly, humorous self. It's the one place where he feels comfortable enough to let his hair down, metaphorically speaking given his signature ginger buzz-cut, and have fun in the company of his trusted inner circle.
Description
Located in a loft just above the main bar, the inner sanctum offers a 360 degree view of the nightclub on the lower level of the cafe portion of the starbase. It is enclosed in a wall of one way glass, so that its occupants can enjoy the view of the stage and dance floor, as well as the windows that look out into the stars, while still maintaining their privacy. Access is granted to both guests and waitstaff from behind the bar via a spiral staircase. The crimson and gold decor of the inner sanctum is quite luxurious with comfortable velvet upholstered seating arranged in cozy groupings around small candlelit tables. It even has its own little dance floor and a full range of gaming consoles to keep everyone entertained.
Localized Phenomena
It is a type of space that is sometimes referred to as an island of coherence where all those who cross the threshold immediately feel a deep sense of peace and alignment with all there is. Those few who have been fortunate enough to have been invited often describe the experience of being there as feeling like floating in a bubble of comradery untouched by the surrounding world.
