Thønülrr

Thønülrr[PLACEHOLDER] (Þønülrr) is revered by the Vörðr as the god of thunder. It is he who brings the rains, he who in turn cracks thunder, and creates displays of lightning. He bears at least ten other names and is known and praised throughout Hadorstadir by warriors young and old, from the richest Jarl to the humblest farmer.

Divine Domains

Note: the way Hæimdalaggir works the title "God of ___" is not really applicable; rather the gods are powerful beings with associations to different things (although with Thønülrr it's much stronger)   Stoms-Thønülrr is the lord of thunder and by extension lightning, but not storms: Thønülrr is storms. As he rides through the clouds, his chariot gathers them together creating mighty storm clouds. Each smack of his ax brings a bolt of lightning, each impact of his hammer are heard as cracks thunder and the blood of all the enemies he slaughters in combat falls to the earth as rain.
Strength-Thønülrr is the principal defender of Asthigar, and as such is one of the most powerful warriors in the cosmos. It should be noted that this does not make Thønülrr a god associated with war; while he is certainly a powerful warrior, war is not his primary domain of influence, but he is associated with protection and is commonly invoked to hallow a location or an object.
Fertility-Thønülrr is a phallic god and is strongly associated with male fertility. He is also associated with agriculture due to his designation as the Storm Lord. Farmers all around call upon Thønülrr with prayers to bless their fields with rain.

Holy Books & Codes

As the Vörðr are a largely illiterate people, Thønülrr's codes and legends are passed down almost entirely through oral traditions. While there are numerous runestones that invoke his name, these are brief prayers and none actually detail any legends. A common phrase in runes is "Þønülrr viji" meaning "Thønülrr bless." This is even a common phrase in speech, the most common usage being "Þønülrr viji velja,"  or "Þønülrr bless this marriage."

While he has many, Thønülrr's true grand symbol is the ax and hammer.
