Military: Skirmish
The Bathewford guard uncover a Erayax Horde spy cell operating just south of the Bardagan border and lead a party to root them out
3 weeks earlier It was a ramshackle warehouse, no different from others within the slums of Doomsayers Keep. But inside, matters of grave and significant importance were being discussed. Inzada paused for a moment to consider the latest report from her operative. An Erayax spy cell has been identified near the border of the Hills of Bardaga. The assassination of the Gazta Debda's mayor and civil unrest near Ildres Teardrop, all the work of this cell according to the report. Sadly these reports were not unique, decades of protecting Ashnoor against what lurks in the shadows meant that both she and her organisation were well aware of the scope of the many unseen and varied threats that constantly hung over the island and the need for total secrecy to address it. "Shall we see to it that the factions are made aware?" Ancius enquired breaking the contemplative silence. "No" Inzada replied "Both their focuses are on Pont presently and I sense it will not be long until the next stage of that escalates. If we inform the factions they will immediately engage their respective propaganda arms seeking to use this ultimately for their respective political advantage. All this will do is risk news of our discovery reaching the Horde, as always we should assume the Horde have operatives embedded at even the highest level of factional operations" Ancius nodded in agreement. "Gather a force of capable soldiers, be they Hadoevan, Geldheim or from outside the factions I care not. Breath no word of their true mission and it's location, tell them we are seeking to bring dangerous bandits to justice and they will be informed of the details when the need arrives" "It shall be done" Ancius replied taking his leave. "Of course it goes without saying our identify and our purpose should remain as it always has been" Inzada said as Ancius approached the door. "That fact is never in doubt commander" Ancius responded over his shoulder as he left the room. The outcome Ancius surveyed the group he had gathered confidently as they prepared to make the journey to the Hill of Bardaga. Even before a blade has been swung he could tell their skill at arms was considerable. They were no fools he mused, it would not be long until they realised that their target was no simple bandits.
