Bardaga

An area of around 4000 sq Kilometres, Bardaga is home to around fifty or more mixed tribes and clan groups.

Whilst the people are often referred to as hill folk, that is wildly inaccurate. They have areas of wide open plains, hills, the lake and various terrains.
The northern most reaches of Bardaga border against Old Ashnoor, the territory currently ruled over by the Erayax.
Whilst incursions happen from the Erayax they are rare and consistently unsuccesful.

History

The Bardagans have a rich oral history that they say goes all the way back to the time of the ten.
The high council of Tribes is called the council of The Ten or The Ten locally. Keeping the rich stories alive is one of the roles of The Ten and their acolytes.
According to their history Bardaga covered a much large region once and, at around the death of Xumdione, the last of the Ten who died in a Bardagan Village The Bardagans reduced their foothold to its current size because, according to the stories, this is all that they require.
Whether a written or spoken agreement or not has ever existed, this seems to have been genearally respected, at least amongst the majority of Ashnoorians.
Since the rise of the Erayax and the fall of Aringale, The Erayax and Bardagans have, in effect at least, been sworn enemies of each other.

The Bardagans rose in notoriety after stories of the keepers of the Alma Aquiesce journey from a captured Aringale to Doomsayer's Keep and their time in Bardaga. According to the stories, the Bardagans ambushed and defeated a sizeable Erayax force to protect the stone bearers. It is known that Bardagans also joined the party and were instrumental in the reformation of servearl guilds.

Tourism

Bardaga has a curious relationship with the outside world.
Perhaps best described thusly, they are a welcoming people and visitors are not shunned. Of course, it should be well noted, they are not encouraged either.
It is rare for Bardagans to leave their home in any permanent sense. There are some nomad hunter gather groups amongst them who often range much further than territory.
Of the few who do leave, many do not return.
