Branon McArdher

Old and tired, but despite that still a fit and strong vie.

Branon has natural leadership skills and a kind disposition.

Childhood

Branon's parents were both textile artisans and expected him to be the same. He was taught to sew and knit even before he had the fingers to do so properly. He wasn't fond of either and would do mock sword battles with his knitting wands, or using them as dining irons for snacks.
His parents tried to get him into other artistic activities such as weaving and embroidery. His inability to focus on these sorts of tasks and his parent's insistence caused a bit of bitterness and resentment between them.

Early Adulthood

As soon as he was of age, Branon moved out of his family home and slept at various friend's houses until one of them, Vozder Conel, decided they should both get a place together on Zavi Station.
From there branon took on odd jobs until he landed a one off body guard hire for a traveling merchant. He found the job suited him so he applied for the 'ZaVida Safety and Communication Force.
He often wanted a new task every 3 years or so, and was promoted at about that rate for a while.

Parenthood

Branon was not a particularly romantic sort, though he did want to try his hand at parenting. So he and Vozder had a child they named Cdar.
Branon didn't want his child to have the same sort of relationship with him that he had with his parents. So he let her train in whatever skills she wanted. He also got in contact with his own family again and tried to repair that relationship without letting them take over Cdar's life they way they tried with him.

Vida Disaster

When the bugs started showing up, Branon was among the scouting party to get a feel for their intentions. When his party made contact and were immediately attacked. Branon was one of three to survive.
When he got back home he worked tirelessly to up the defences of the stations and warn the plantest that they would need to fight this force together. But he wasn't headed until the Disaster took out Vida Colony completely.
After that the Vondren Military and Jaumun Federation banded with the ZaVida Force to form the Alliance Military. But for him, and other space station inhabitants, it felt a bit to little a bit to late.   Branon became a general and was put in charge of the experimental Rover units that became a linchpin in winning the war. He also took part in the Battle for Zavi, though more as a coordinator than a fighter.

Now

Now retired from battle and traumatized from the war, he works toward helping the spacers effected by the disasters and battles reclaim a sense of normalcy as they resettle. He's also working with Cdar's romantic partner, a diplomat from the Jaumun Federation, to hold together the hard won peace between the planets.

The equivalent of a grade school education, with half hearted apprenticeship in fabric arts.
He learned his military skills on the field the hard way.

A leader in the Alliance Military, has command over three Hyperrover groups.

The events of the Bug War still haunt him.

Branon tends to sigh.. a lot.

Branon's efforts during the war and after have given him something of a hero status among the people of the ZaVida Mutuality.
