Apeironite

Apeironites are reincarnations of The Ohmites or the Pantheon of Nine. They are celebrated and revered as divine leaders in Vanori. They serve as the guardians of harmony and represent the renewal of their Ohmite’s power and wisdom in the world.   An Apeironite constitutes one of the four sects of Dendrohmi excluding Extos. While this makes eight Ohmites, only one Apeironite is reborn. An Apeironite from each branch also seldom happens at the same time. It was during the Age of Enlightenment that an Apeironite from Terbis, Azuris, Sonis, and Fernis walked the mortal plane simultaneously for the first time. Since then, there have only been two other occurrences.   Apeironites harbor more ohmi than even the most powerful Mancers in Vanori. Because of their power, their aura is usually the first indicator in childhood that identifies them. They will also develop their Ohmite’s mark as they grow, confirming their status. Oracles and seers can sometimes foretell the discovery of an Apeironite through prophecies and readings, but their fortunes are not always 100% accurate.   After their mark appears, the Awakening Ceremony is held to authenticate their divinity before the world. High-ranking members of all sects, nobles, and sometimes foreign dignitaries attend this sacred event. The ceremony marks the reincarnate's official recognition, and their spiritual journey begins with teachings from their sect.   Once all the teachings have been completed, reincarnates must undergo a series of trials known as the Thaumaturgy Trials to prove their Apeironite status and gain full control over their power. These trials vary depending on the Ohmite's sect and test the reincarnate's physical, emotional, and spiritual fortitude. They ensure the Apeironite is worthy and prepared to wield the Ohmite's power. Failure of the trials often results in death or life-altering disfigurement.   After the Apeironite completes the Thaumaturgy Trials, a ceremonial festival is held to consecrate their mastery. The festival lasts for months as people from all over the world come to celebrate, and the final day serves as the official ceremony that tests the feats of the reincarnate.   Although the Apeironites possess the power of the Ohmites, they are not immortal but live longer lives than the average human. When an Apeironite dies, their body undergoes the Ascension Ritual. An Apeironite’s ohmi must be released into the aether to restore their respective Ohmites’ essence. This is essential for the next Apeironite to be reborn. The reincarnate's body is treated with the utmost reverence, typically involving elaborate rites representative of their sect and Ohmites
