As the only major continent not connected to the Eovuleon supercontinent, Haileh was mostly left to its own affairs for much of Ioran history. This lead to the creation of the mighty
Leior Empire, which nearly consumed the entire continent prior to its dissolution at the end of
The Last War.
Geography
Located in the southwestern hemisphere, Haileh is a sort of microcosm of Iora, stretching from the great plains of
Nekala in the south to the skyscraping mountains of
Tui in the north. The largest nation that occupies Haileh is Leior even after the dissolution of their empire, but much of their territory is dominated by uninhabitable desert. In total, there are 29 unique nations that occupy Haileh if you consider the
Makhah Confederacy to be separate entities, 11 if you consider them one nation.
Haileh is the second largest Ioran continent in terms of population, with over 1.44 billion inhabitants. The majority of this population lives in the Makhah Confederacy, with Nekala as the second largest population center. The largest city in Haileh is
Reyes Llaqta, the capital of Leior.
The continent features two major mountain ranges, the Hanaq Pacha range in Tui, and the Aanohinah range in southern
Moki'Seh. Unlike
Eovara and
Uleon, Haileh has no connection to either of the planet's arctic circles.
Ecosystem
Haileh has a highly varied ecosystem, with most climates other than tundras appearing somewhere on the continent. Much like Uleon however, the northernmost parts of the continent tend towards hotter, more arid climates while the southern parts consist of more thick forest and plains.
Flora and Fauna
The majority of Haileh's biodiversity can be found in the dense broadleaf forests of Moki'Seh and the jungles of Tui, though there are few places outside of the Leior desert that have particularly low biodiversity. Haileh is also the birthplace of the
Cennurian Deer, which is commonly used as a mount in nations all around the world in the modern era.
