Eovara

Eovara is the coldest and most mountainous region of Iora. As the birthplace of The The Verdance, much of the continent is covered in swaths of dense forest and features high quality, nutrient dense soils for farming. Once mostly controlled by the Irjian Empire, the continent is now evenly divided among a number of major world powers.

Geography

    Located in both the north eastern and north western hemispheres, Eovara is the second largest of the three Ioran continents just after Uleon to the south. It connects to Uleon at the border of Tanoshira at its southernmost point, and also claims the many island chains that sprout from it, including the island of Manahoa in the Sirae Ocean. Yozhov is the largest nation in terms of landmass on Eovara, and covers almost 20% of the continent. In total, Eovara plays host to 22 unique states.   With 1.22 billion inhabitants, it is the least populated continent in the world, though there has been a not insignificant amount of immigration to Suhr, Yozhov, and the Bredenraighn States in the aftermath of The Last War. The most populated nation on the continent is Suhr, though the Bredenraighn States have a higher average population density. Additionally, thanks to Tanoshira, it is the most diverse continent on Iora, and people of all backgrounds can be found somewhere in Eovara.   Eovara also features the tallest mountain range in all of Iora. Known as the Great Wall of Yozhovi, the tallest peaks reach almost 35,000 feet above sea level, and are incredibly difficult to traverse even for seasoned mountain climbers. The other two mountain ranges on the continent are Alwen's Crown to the north of Suhr and the Svolenaire Peaks that cut through the Bredenraighn States.  

Ecosystem

Because of its relatively cold climate, Eovara's ecosystem tends towards taigas, tundras, steppes, and deciduous forests, with the majority of the continent dominated by varying types of coniferous forest. The continent also has the highest average rainfall of all the continents of Iora, and features some of the oldest forests in the world. That said, continued industrialization in Suhr has caused significant damage to the environment, and some worry their actions could endanger the balance of the natural world.  

Flora and Fauna

The majority Eovara's biodiversity can be found in the southernmost parts of the continent, with the most unique species located in Southern Ahv and Irjia. Eovaran animals tend to be a bit smaller than those found in Haileh and Uleon, with the largest domestic mammal being the Aurochs.
