A new type of International military was formed, piloting a weapon system of Orath design, humanity called mecha. The Mecha Forces were formed as the main line of defense against the Patena. They were piloted by a single person and could be equipped with various tools and weapons, optimal for the changing state of a battlefield. They were capable of flight, were significantly more agile and capable of similar speed to any of Earth’s fighter jets, and they could also reach low orbit under their own power.

The Patena claimed to be perform acts of charity or reparations, as humans sometimes called them, to make up for the damage done to Earth and humanity during the war.   The first act was the destruction of one of their five Ice ship's. This rained down massive chunks of ice on the world. While aimed to land primarily in the Pacific oceans many massive pieces struck land masses with damages akin to meteor impacts but with the additional dangers of flooding. Some masses were large enough to cause small tidal waves and over all the mass raised water levels globally. Lasty the ice of the Ice Ships was collected from planets the Patena found along their journey through space. Much of the water had frozen, but still living organisms it in. Many of these organisms escaped into earths oceans and added to the already immense ecological disaster.   The destruction of the ship also added to the already overwhelming amount of war debris and human space garbage bringing Kessler syndrome to fruition.   The Patena, in secret, constructed two Polar Engines, one on each ice cap. These acted as massive air filters, slowly pulling dangerous element, pollutants, and green house gases out of Earths air and rduced level globally. These engines created an immense amount of heat, heat that was spilled into the ice caps melting both. The Patena fleet left entirely after this, leaving behind many of their own people, to pursue the Orath.
