Kaldreia
A kingdom on the east side of the Veldan Sea, and the second kingdom to send an expedition to the nation of Kormyr. Oppressed and cornered in terms of land due to their rival Kingdom, Xoris, Kaldreia's navy is much more advanced and quick, which is a big reason for Kaldreia to send forces across the Veldan Sea to get resources from Kormyr.
History
Kaldreia was founded by the noble family of Kaldan, originating from King Louie Kaldan and Queen Vanessa Kaldan, human nobility. The kingdom settled its capitol on the peninsula of a landmass referred to as "Terra Prima," on the western coast. The Kaldan family, though originally human, eventually branched out to elven lineages, becoming a primarily half-elf or full-elven lineage over the years. Despite the long-lasting life of elves, it is agreed upon that any elven ruler only serve as King or Queen for a century and a half at max, before passing the crown on to the next generation, and most pass it on well before that. Over many years, Kaldreia rivalled the kingdom of Xoris, and while they couldn't be matched on land, Kaldreia knew how to handle the seas, and over time, developed technology to control the power of elementals to channel into speed for their ships, primarily that of Water Elementals. Though constantly on and off warring with Xoris, Kaldreia benefits from wide sea trade with other kingdoms across Terra Prima, and is known for luxurious jewelry from their pearlcatching business, as well as fine fishing industry.Religion
Though all religions are accepted in Kaldreia, primary worship is directed to the God of Sunlight, Amaunator. It is believed that Amaunator protects the capitol city with a field of sunlight that only shines in the darkest hour, but that has yet to be proven. Other gods include: Bahamut, Tyr, Lathander (A sub-belief in Amaunator), and more.Lifestyle
Though a few nobles exist in Kareia, much more than an average city's population is common folk in the middle- and low-class categories. Farming and Fishing are common occupations, and more than normal amounts of common citizens give up their jobs for adventuring, or mercenary work.Military
As mentioned before, Kaldreia lacks in sufficient, organized land military, usually conscripting mercenary groups to fight on land when necessary, and Kaldreia's "General" is more of an organizer between the multiple conscripted groups. While its army is weak, Kaldreia's Navy is impressive - Sporting elemental-engine driven ships that can easily outrun all other types of ships, and can be devastating in terms of firepower, if the ship draws on further elemental energy to make magical cannonfire.Cities
