Dawn Scar

The massive, erupted land at the center of the world stands as both a wonder of Illyria and a testament to the might of The Sovereign. Carrying an eminent air of unchallenged power and raw beauty, the crater spans 430 kilometers at its widest point and dives deeper into the ground than anyone has ever been able to explore. At the bottom of the nearly endless gash is said to be the Godkeep where The Sovereign were imprisoned.

An Everlasting Memorial

The eruption stands the test of time and nearly a thousand years later it still proclaims the glory of The Sovereign and tells of the sacrifice they made. After their defeat of The Eminarch, The Sovereign dubbed the crater the Dawn Scar to immortalize it as a memorial to those lost in the process of birthing a new world. Though it is impossible to know the names of the lost gods, what they stood for is remembered whenever anyone sees the scar.

Eruption

When The Sovereign made their escape, they punched up through the ground, shattering the surface and sending unimaginably large chunks of land hurtling high into the air. These mountainous clusters of rock never came back down but instead remained suspended high in the air. Collectively, these floating islands are known as the Shattered Isles. Most of them are centered over the Dawn Scar, and many smaller pieces of debris still float idly in the open space about the eruption. However, some of these isles have drifted away and roam the face of Illyria.
