Sorcerer King of Sosso
Sorcerer King
History
- The Sorcerer King was one the of the Han-Hausa children who destroyed the elders by summoning Loa to escape the oncoming Semudan army
- These "children" included Mama Tet, Entariath, Witch Queen and Sili, Witch Queen.
- After escaping he took on a different “skin” and permanently dispelled the soul of the body he inhabited
- He gained entry into the houssehold of the preeminent noble House of Sosso, abandoned his Hausan vow to destroy Semudan and became the Prince of Sosso (inhabiting the skin of the original Prince)
- With the Blue Star Empire at the greatest extent of any Semudan dynasty before or after, a series of rapidly escalating events the Blue Start Empire fell apart almost overnight.
- After the Witches War led to Golden Age collapse, that included the Blue Star Empire of Semudan, the Sorcerer King led Sosso on a ten year campaign that enslaved most of Semudan.
- Leading a monstrously powerful army that swept aside all resistance and between 980 and 990 DR the Sorere King had conquered every neighbouring House, and was threatening the final Imperial defenders in the broken city of Zanji.
- As the Sorcerer King commenced his final assualt and the Blue Star of Azur crumbling above the city he disappeared, trapped within his own Lacuna
- His generals and High-Sorcerers quickly claimed the Sosso crown for themselves. The non-homind entities bound to the Sorcerer King were released, the non-homind allies took matters into their hands, those subject the supernatural terror and brutality of Sosso rose up and the fledgling Sosso dynasty collapsed, leading to the 3rd time of Chaos.
- The Sorcerer King is emerging from the shadows and intends to reclaim the night as the preeminent force of magic in Semudan
- The Sorcerer King’s resources were stretched after crushing the Tal Accord and are rapidly exhausting in the Palanquin Night War, especially the running war with Emerald's Blaze
- The Sorcerer King and the Faithful are actively engaged in the Palanquin Night War, fluidly changing, and seemingly randomly switching allegiances and strategy. The main source of his wrath has been Emerald's Blaze who used the Ink of Architeuthis to to attack one of the fallen Sosoo palaces, creating a Generation Conflagration that burnt the palace to ashes backwards through time
- While other alliances and tartegts come and go, the Sorcerer King remains singularly myopic in his rage against Emerald's Blaze
- He has called in many favours slowly gathered over the centuries and has a complicated relationship with Great Old Ones, Destroyers, Titans, Shadow Kings, the Elder Things, Demon Lords and Arch Devils
- The Sorcerer King and Faithful of Sosso are actively engaged in the Palanquin Night War, fluidly changing, and seemingly randomly switching allegiances and strategy
- Has complicated relationships with the Great Old Ones, Destroyers, Titans, Shadow Kings, the Elder Things, Demon Lords and Arch Devils
- Is currently in contact with the Mummies of Carkade that dwell to the west of Semudan, calculating a way to use them to the best of his advantage without making himself a minor player in current events
- He created a lacuna at the time of his greatest power, when he was the defacto ruler of Semudan as he lead Sosso on a nuclear scale explosive conquest in the final days of the Blue Star Empire of Azur Semudan
- He is now a prisoner inside his own lacuna and cannot physically leave it. When the lacuna is open, the Sorcerer King disjoins into multiple forms, each revelling in moments from his past
- Was actively seeking to obtain the ink of Architeuthis all other Elder God artefacts
- Is in possession of a spear tipped with horn from Horned God
- Is currently in contact with the Mummies of Carkade 1472.12 that dwell to the west of Semudan, calculating a way to use them to the best of his advantage without reducing himself to a minor player in current events
- His lacuna was created using the time crystal and a series of linked 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th level spells, some which were gained from dealings with the Undead Titan Skullbriar
- Imperfections in the spell casting and the magical items used in the creation of the Lacuna initailly rapped the Sorcerer King inside it when activated
- The Sorcerer King immediately understood the treachery of Skullbriar. Through intense study he learnt that he could only leave the Lacuna while the Time Crystal was inactive, but to do so would permanently shut down the Lacuna
- The Sorcerer King continued to seek a way to leave the Lacuna as himself, but not have the Lacuna permanently dissipate. Over five centuries he become addicted to the power of the Time Crystal and would rather stay in the Lacuna forever, safe and wielding his power on the outside world than live without it
- He sought out the Ink of Architeuthis to use it and mend the failed spells that created the Lacuna, allowing him the absolute safety of being out of time when he wished (i.e. staing in the lacuna) and to fully leave when he wanted, while not risking his impreganble sanctuary
- When trapped in the lacuna, he was active when the gate to real time was closed, but when the gate was open, is disjoined into many weaker forms trapped in the memories of 500 years ago
- In DR 1479, the Shadowfel and Sosso were cosmically aligned leading to a temporary planar conjunction and making the borders between each plane “soft”
- Sorcerer King called the Faithful to Walpurgis Nacht when he saw the approaching conjunction, to replenish power and inspire the Faithful through power, terror and the promise of ecstasy
- This power would be replenished when the Walpurgis Nacht ritual called forth Skullbriar and his Shadowfel minions
- BMG succesfully disrupted this ritual, convincing the Sorcere King to abandon his Lacuna and return to the real world - but not before he snagged his Time Crystal on the way out
- When the Lacuna was open, the Sorcerer King bound himself to his throne while 3x Memory forms ventured out. They were:
- The Persona, the mask worn to impose fear and awe among others. It acted as a shield to negative self-images = over the top love and terror, is delusional and megalomania
- The Shadow, was the Sorcerer Kings repressed ideas, weaknesses, desires, instincts, and shortcomings = submission to the Witch Queens, betrayal of Hausa, terror of being controlled
- Animus/Anima, was primary source of his communication with the collective Hausa unconscious = tribal, primal, fixed society roles, “the people”, pride of separateness. This version of the Sorcerer King was the original Hausan tribal self in his “original skin”
