The Lighthouse

The main landmark as well as the namesake of the campaign. This ancient and mysterious lighthouse is in the middle of Big City, a landlocked city at the center of the continent. For the longest time, the lighthouse has been inaccessible. Until one night, a archaeologist managed to open it with a strange lantern. Now the party has access to The Lighthouse. Throughout the campaign, the party has managed to open up more and more floors as they discover new Elemental Stones. Currently they have access to six floors. The floors are as follows:   1st Floor: The Pedestal The main floor, this area houses a pedestal with eight divots and runes. The party eventually learned that putting one of the eight stones in its corresponding divot grants them access to a new floor, as well as giving them a boon to their strength, either physical or magical. On this floor, Samuel the archeologist can be found. He has his books and boxes of various trinkets spread around.
2nd Floor: Infirmary Opened when the party obtained the Water Stone. With decent equipment, the infirmary can be used to treat most non-magical ailments. It also serves as a space for clerics to be able to heal with greater effect. On occasion it will be stocked up with healing items. The party has utilized this place to keep corpses perserved for future resurrection.
3rd Floor: Library When the party retrieved the Dark Stone, they gained access to the third floor. This floor became a special place dedicated to knowledge, both arcane and mundane. This space can be used to research and gain a information bonus to travel rolls, to have a space in which one can study new non-physical skills. It has a teleportation circle. The library is often stocked with magical items. While traveling, the party came across Rosalind Olotlsa , a gnome with the dream of working in a library. They extended an invitation to her, and now she resides on this floor. She spends her time maintaining the books and hunting down new books to add to the collection.
4th Floor: Worskshop This floor became accessible when the party brought back the Stone Stone. There are several work stations on this floor that can be used to create various goods. Currently, the party have allowed Gearthlin, a firbolg who dreamed of enchanting, the opportunity to hone their skills here. He offers enchantments to the party as a thank you. Karith Bigfellow was hired on as the party's blacksmith. He was more than willing to take the job, as he is extremly thankful to Rao for the gold bars he bought, which allowed his business to continue on after the building in Manera was destroyed. The party is currently hiring more positions.
5th Floor: Private Shop After the Ice Stone was placed on the pedestal, this floor opened up. The floor is used as a personal shop for the party. Samuel, Rosalind or Gearthlin will sell unused goods for a markup outside of the lighthouse and return the earnings to a chest in the shop. The party can also buy equipment that was brought in from the outside at a discount. If any of the party's allies were to gain access to the lighthouse, they could also sell and buy using this shop.
6th Floor: Empty Following the retrieval of the Earth Stone, the party gained access to yet another floor. However, this floor has yet to be converted into anything useful. Thus, it sits empty.

Alterations

Architecture

The building is made of pure white marble that has never cracked or faded. The inside, each floor is made of ancient wood, that seems to have petrified over time. Spiral staircases of light connect each floor.

Defenses

The Lighthouse is protected by magic that makes the door dissapear unless a Stone is presented at the entrance. The whole structure is under an intense magic field that stops anything from damaging it, or from even reaching its top from the exterior. This magic seems to exceed that of even the gods.

History

Nothing about the Lighthouse's past is known. It has been at the center of Big City since its founding, and maybe even before. In modern history, the Lighthouse was opened by Samuel, and visisted by a group of people that would eventually become the Circle of Stones. The Circle currently uses it as their base of opperations.

Tourism

Outsiders will visit the Lighthouse to marvel at its design and mystery. However, no one outside of the party and a few others have ever set foot inside.
