A Rejection of The Outcasting Proclamation

Created by Adam Tingley // Wreckerdwarf
The document that caused their turmoil. The Outcasting Proclamation. A recent development in terms of dwarven timescales, this one piece of chiselled stone drastically lowered the bar required to convict the perpetrators of trivial crimes. Theft of any foodstuffs could easily be perceived as a threat against the city and dwarfkind itself. The view that the single event that occurred in Verd’Ain would be as easily repeated in any city was absurd to the outcasts of Ang’Verd. Their city was a prosperous hub of harvest and food was plentiful. Those that were forced into poverty by the greed of others were banished as brutally and equally as those that would seek to murder their own.   It was the first law to be amended following the coup led by the outcasts within the city of Ang’Verd. Many sections were changed but most importantly the severity of crime was drawn back. All those that would actively seek to harm others through murder or abuse were still primarily kept in the lowest reaches of the city and were made to toil the fields and provide for others. Runebranding was reserved only for the most severe of these convicts and outer exile was scrubbed from the rock altogether. The city lists that authorised the changes to be imposed upon them were snapped clean off from the tablet and crushed.   However, the most important wording to be amended was that of the subjects being targeted. The outcasts saw to it that all wording relating to the term “dwarf” was amended to the term of “dwarfkin”. This distinction allowed for the inclusion of all other races to be a part of their new society. All of this work was carried out in tandem with the creation of other documents with the intent of running a new, updated version of the city that they called home.

I do really like the switch from 'dwarf' to 'dwarfkin'
