Reincarnations
The Chimera, before they left this world at the end of the Divine Era, hid a sliver of their immortal soul as an endlessly reincarnating mortal essence.
These reincarnations manifested in many places, as many people. None were aware of what they were. The only signs that they contained some special sliver of a God were their innate knowledge of the Secret Language and their subtly unusual soul that had no afterlife and was invulnerable to magical alteration.
These reincarnations make up the cast of the Vestige Index - the modern full incarnation of the Chimera, Arzet Devadov, can call upon these Vestiges for their knowledge and for special powers.
