Dream Obelisk

Dream Obelisks are dream and emotion harvesting machines used by cultists in Stildane. This magic is a recent invention of Verkon, The False Chimera, which serves his dark designs.   Dream Obelisks appear as strange-looking obelisks that twist the world around them in unsettling ways. By some unknown means, cultists who create these obelisks are able to induce forced slumber near them. Those who sleep at the foot of the obelisk become enthralled to it and pulled into a state of perpetual slumber. The sleepers need no food or drink, and their bodies slowly wither but do not die.    Subjects enthralled to Dream Obelisks produce magical energy for both the Obelisk and its master. As the Obelisk grows in influence, the surrounding landscape grows chaotic and dreamlike - the barrier of reality draws thin. The Obelisk's masters gain power for their own ends, believing that they are the ultimate beneficiaries (and not Verkon, The False Chimera .    Subjects at Dream Obelisks can be harvested for magical items such as Stolen Eyes.   While Arzet Devadov was able to pick up a good deal of these Obelisks from his time in Rolkirk and through the Corrupted Contact, there is more research yet to be done on the matter.
