Corrupted Contact

The Divine Contact is a ritual that allows the caster to commune with whichever Lunar God currently presides over the world. To do this, the caster draws a chalk circle and symbols, chants sacred words, and burns a specific kind of incense   The Corrupted Contact is a false Divine Contact made to Verkon, The False Chimera instead of The Lunar Pantheon. For this to occur, the Divine Contact must be done incorrectly at some step while still using the chalk circle and incense.    Intentionally perverting or inverting key symbols or phrases of the contact reliably corrupt it, but simple accidental miscastings also have a chance of contacting the False Chimera as well.   The False Chimera controls how it presents during the Corrupted Contact, meaning that some people may conduct this ritual without realizing that they are speaking to something other than their target Lunar God.   Arzet Devadov learned a reliable corruption of the Corrupted Contact.   This is a recent phenomenon, which only began around 2014 ME.
