Deliverance

Deliverance is the magical ability that all souls have after being assigned an Afterlife after death, where they can offer invitations to other souls to join them on their Plane. Deliverance requires personal knowledge of the person being offered the invitation, including their name; most souls are limited to people they knew as people in some capacity (more than just a passing name and face).    A soul who accepts an invitation can choose to return to their original plane afterwards, or move between the two fluidly. The vast majority of soul traffic is from other planes, such as Purgatory, to Paradise, though.     Deliverance was created by Halcyon to allow the early Lunar Gods to elevate their Human loved ones to Paradise and was later expanded to something all souls could do.    Lunar Gods remain the most reliable and importance source of Deliverance to Paradise across the mortal realms. Through Divine Observation the Lunar Gods can effectively invite anyone to Paradise and they can use Metaminds to process those names and invitations on a massive scale.   Because of this association between Lunar Gods and Deliverance, many mortals assume that only they can "save" souls to Paradise as a kind of moral reward. Deliverance has taken on a religious connotation as an absolution from sin and a moral confirmation of worth. This had led to mortals that would go to Paradise by default, like Dryads, often praying for Deliverance they do not physically need - but are taught that they must beg for.    Only one Lunar God, Agamine the Lost, has rejected using Deliverance as a "reward" or a measurement of moral worth. Agamine quietly toils in Paradise Delivering souls from the worst pits of Purgatory. Few mortals know about this.
