Northeast Archipellago
Masuge are native to this archipellago, as are Oni, among others. There is some trade between the mainland and the archipellago, but not to a particularly large degree. Travel is also on the rare side-- in or out.
Fish is a staple of the diets of all that live there, though some hunting of other species exists (especially by masuge, who are effectively the apex predators of the region). Relatively few humans live here, as most of the population is made up of oni, masuge and (species:14c41fd3-877f-43b7-b746-b7b096a5bbb3). On the other hand, there is a surprising amount of @[Fae present after That one war that ended with too many toji, especially given that there are no Fae Pools in this region.
History
Cultural Note: After an ancient war (predating Xianshèng by a long time) where reanimation of the dead was the primary way of attack, all on the archipellago (since all were involved in the conflict) were effectively traumatized into exclusively cremating their dead if they didn't beforehand. Each group retained any tradition they could from before this point, but using cremated remains instead. The few other places around the world that had similar conflicts also turned to cremation or other (somewhat odd or uncommon) ways to prevent reanimation. It's almost uncanny how all in the area of these conflicts adopt such different ways of dealing with their dead afterwards. Graveyards and buried dead effectively become taboo.
