Oni
Oni are one of the species made by jensò. They created red oni from magma and blue oni from hail. The two are diametrically opposed; meant to complement and contrast one another.

Naming Traditions
Oni names are given communally– small children are called a variety of adjectives until one sticks and is picked up by the rest of the community.
Beauty Ideals
- Being extremely muscular and athletic
- clean, soft hair (kept so the length lands somewhere at one's back (from the neck to the ass))
- colored lacquer/dye used on horns, and also specialized markings on face and body
- eyes; it's especially desirable for one to have excellent sight (or extra eyes), as they generally hold jensò in high regard (and they appear to oni in an oni-like form, retaining the extra eyes and revered sight)
- well-kept nails and horns, lacking chips and cracks
Culture and Cultural Heritage
All oni wear colored laquer on their horns, and dye their skin in patterns. These colors and patterns all have different meanings and uses. Similarly, hair colors are also attached to meaning. Oni naturally have very light hair, and dye it darker or black in mourning (specific shade depends on degree of mourning). Similarly, black laquer and dye are also worn in mourning. During different celebrations and milestones, oni dye their hair specific vibrant colors.
