Claw of Tharzduun

The Claw of Tharzduun was a legendary bastard sword originally forged millennia ago for Araxtus, a powerful herald of Tharzduun. Infused with abyssal power, the sword served as a weapon of immense destructive capability and corruption. However, Araxtus was ultimately defeated by a paladin devoted to Sarenrae, who found the sword impossible to destroy. Instead, the paladin sanctified and corrupted the blade’s original purpose, transforming it into a weapon capable of opposing Tharzduun and his dark artifacts, especially the infamous Eye of the Abyss.   Lost to history for centuries, the Claw of Tharzduun resurfaced when discovered by Telith Nordhof, a cleric of Iomedae. Telith wielded the purified blade during a climactic battle against the drow lord Lasdolon, who had become corrupted by the Eye of the Abyss. In a decisive strike, Telith shattered the Eye, but the Claw was destroyed in the act, forever ending its legacy as both a weapon of Tharzduun and an artifact against him.
