This ment life was about the same for the Kobolds, except that they had to stay underground longer and had to find underground mushrooms for sustenance. Quite a few Kobolds tribes, however, panicked and dug into dwarven strongholds by mistake. These caused massive struggles for both sides, as the kobolds did not have the necessary weapons or training to combat the dwarves, and the dwarves could not get deep into the Kobold dens to get rid of them permanently. Usually, after a few Months would pass. The Kobolds and Dwarves would make a truce, both because they could not afford large amount of losses. Some of these dwarf clans allowed the Kobolds into their Strongholds, as having miners would allow the dwarves to focus more on blacksmithing. These kobolds would later become City Kobolds, and lost some of their draconic heritage, as they did not need them for survival. They became the Miners and Jewelers of these Dwarf Strongholds.
