The Morganian Revolt (Ancient)

Starting in the days of old Camelot with the departure of the Morganian sect from the court of Camelot, the clashes between the wizards of the order and those who would see magic free from their control defined the coming years, culminating in the siege of Camelot and the casting of the Mutespell, which held magic in it's place for a millennia, until the modern day with the Morganian resurgence after Camelot's return and the near destruction of the order.

The Conflict

Prelude

With discontent rising among the diciples of merlin who questioned the prejudice with which magic was bound and restrained by the merlinian doctorine, a group of diciples, led by Morgana Tintagelhave decided to attempt to free some of the magical creatures laying within the dungeons of camelot, in order to debase the merlinian order's dominance over the wild magical world. The attempt ended in failure, and Morgana and her co conspirators fled the city and execution. vowing to release magic itself from the chains of mankind, Morgana signed a pact with the Archfey, granting her the powers she required to fight back against the order that has banished her.

Battlefield

The lands around camelot and albion have become A near endless battlefield for nearly 30 years of battle, with wild magical creatures lurking and waiting to slay any of the order that ventured through their realms, and powerfull wizards taking the fight to them in their deep forests. Anywhere that there was magic, there was war.

Outcome

In the year 976, after a series of victories across albion taking out some important figures in the court of camelot, including the king himself, the forces of the wild, led by Morgana and the Archfey itself, marched on camelot. The battle lasted for 3 days and 3 nights, and at it's climax the morganians have breached the castle walls, confronting the high council at the throne chamber of camelot, the Archfey intended to end the rule of humanity over magics, however, in a final desperate try, the council sacrificed all they had to cast the mutespell, entraping magic, and the Archfey, in stasis for 1000 years.

Aftermath

With the Mutespell in effect, and the Archfey frozen into time within camelot's throne room morgana fled. Hiding in the woods she swore to prepare, and so, with her immortal body she schemed for 1000 years. trying to presuade those who knew of magic to her side in the eventual war, gathering knowledge and allies, both magical and not, she schemed for 1000 years to exact her revenge.   Meanwhile, the mutespell claimed the life of Merlin himself, leaving his young apprentice miranda as his succesor. the rest of the magical world was forced into either the dormant frozen fate that befell the city, or into hiding, to avoid it's effects. as long as no new adult learned of magic's existance, it was safe from the spell.
